1. INTRODUCTION
Procrastination is becoming the veryparticular group amongnowadays society. In psychology, procrastination refers to the act of replacinghigh-priority actions with tasks of low-priority, and thus putting offimportant tasks to a later time[1].Although this problem is getting more serious and serious, few solutions havebeen done by the society. 2.IDENTIFYING THEOPPORTUNITIES
2.1 Target Group & Insights
I began theinterview with my friends first and found that almost all them are facing thisproblem. Then I use the Internet for some secondary research, the result of itshows that over 90% of the whit collar and students admit they haveprocrastination. Students in universities are the very classical group amongthem and some of the interviewees said that the problem of procrastinationappeared when they enter to the university and has been defeated after they graduated.

Therefore, I’d like to narrow my targetgroup to the people in university who have the procrastination problem.

                                                                     Figure 2 the Relationship of SET factors

Accordingto Figure 1, we can see the relationship of the set factors: they have a reallystrong connection with each other. More over, the POG will be identified alongthis relationship mapping.

2.3 Product Opportunity Gap
By using the SETfactors to listed out the important factors of the target group nowadayssituation they are facing. There exists a product extension program in-betweenthese factors. This will help me to rediscover some new channels or ways todescribe as well as to do some further research on the target group. What’smore, this process will definitely help me considering the opportunities andfinally come out some rough design directions.
Figure 3 POGs
Afterlisting and finishing the analysis of the Product Opportunity Gaps, we cannarrow down the SET Factors into 7 areas (Design Directions) below. They are:
-1-Education:
A product which can support thestudents handle their timetable duringclass days;
-2-Behavior Control (Self control):
(Maybe some apps) Offer somebehavior control lecture;
-3-Financial & Efficiency:
Apps about efficiency, remindingand setting the schedule. As well as can improve the experience for the user touse the app;
-4-Social Communication:
Sharing your deadlines to yourclassmates, remind them as well as yourself keep on doing these. Or you canalso ask your friends to call you about your deadline;
-5-Health & Mental check service
Service design for the hospital or clinicabout how to let patient of procrastination approach the way;
-6-Technical enhancement
Device or tools to prevent thisproblem;
-7-Working place embedded facilities
Setting or environment design onthis area.

2.4Weighted Matrix
We can pick upthe criteria for analyzing.
Figure 4 Weighted Matrix
Oneimportant thing that Weighted Matrix shows, is the potential of variouspossible project directions. This time it is decided to focus on the areas ofFinancial & Efficiency as well as the Technology enhancement. I think bothof them are very good opportunities towards the procrastinated problems. ThenI’d like to combine these two aspects together. Therefore, the opportunity ofthe project may be:

-1- Peoplewith procrastination have a strong will to get rid of this problem.
-2- They are always influenced by the others in daily life and working/studyingplaces.
-3- Public health care have not took a serious looking at the procrastinationyet. Many people do not know where to go for help.
-4- Existing products face on efficiency is almost having only simple functionso that it is hard to satisfy.
-5- People are familiar to the social network and prefer their friends toremind them the time for doing work.

2.5 Opportunity Statement
To improve the efficiency of the studentsthat always have procrastination problem, using the apps of efficiency with thecommunicational function.

Oneparticular aspect must be highline is that many interviewees admitted that theyare often addicted to the games and SNS while being procrastinated. So do the existence of SNS and games only exacerbatingthe procrastination?

2.6 CONCEPT:
Description: “Handli”.

This is an easyand funny apps in cellphone and computer. It not only can remind people thetime but also use its social network to share your deadline to each other andask them to remind you the time. What’s more, it would be like a RPG (game) for user to mark theirfinished tasks and unfinished tasks into a map of virtual kingdom so that can improvethe user’s experience while use it.

Aftersome quick setting about the deadlines and task you get, you can as enjoyableas the character in RPG (Role-Play Game), and beat all the tasks as the levelof game. What’s more, you can connect it to the Internet and post your deadline online as well as seeing how’s everyonegoing with the tasks.

When youare not sure whether you can remember the time or start your work soon, you canalso ask your friends to help you reminding via this app.

3. Understandingopportunity

3.1 Stakeholder Analysis:
With thedirection of this service, we can mark the categorized list of the users andstakeholders.
Figure 5 Stakeholder
There’sno doubt that the user of this service is the student with procrastination.Because of the modern relationship between people and people, thatprocrastination can influent many other people who are in the target groups’social network. With the help of this analysis, we can easily find out theinterrelationship between different stakeholder groups. Of course they are ourpotential clients, too.

3.2 Positioning Map
Figure 6 Positioning Mapping
The mapshows out the position of current solution and products to defendprocrastination.

3.3 Value OpportunityAnalysis:
The comparing currentproduct in the Value Opportunity Analysis is a clock called “Shoulda Woulda CouldaClock” (S.W.C. Clock).
FIgure 8 Shoulda Woulda Coulda Clock
It is acombination clock and day organizer which comes with color codedleather-covered magnets (representing tasks) that can be added or removed fromthe clock face. And if a task is not finished in time, it will be pushedautomatically forward into a new time segment by the single clock hand[2].

Thiswould be very interesting however, it has not solved the problem people have.And when the tasks are not finished in time, it would be very obsessional.

But withthe help of “Handli”, people can handle their time in a more interactive wayand happy experience.

4. ConceptualizingOpportunity

4.1 Design Objectives
#1. Theinterface should be easy to use in short learning curve.
#2. Efficiency is the first criteria to be concern during the whole process.
#3. Experience during the tasks should be more enjoyable.
#4. Personal Style must be included.
#5. Privacy and Security should be concerned well.

4.2 Functions
“Handi” is a appcombine the time reminder and social network together, which can improve theusers’ efficiency. There’s the functions it has:

#1. Buildup the tasks should be done in a day/a month with a funny playable interface.
#2. Remind the deadline. The user can choose whether it could be reminded bythe machine or by their friends via the SNS system (verbal or message).
#3. User can post their statements about the deadline schedule or task finisheddiary and moods on the social network system. So people can view, comment, andremind the time to each other.
Figure 9 Relationship Model
4.3 Storyboards
Miffyhas a serious procrastination. She can never believe the MEMO and schedule shemade and never start working beyond the deadline.

Almost everyday before deadline, she has to stayover night. She really hate it but it can’t help.

However,with the help of “Handli”, Miffy can improve her efficiency in a simple way!

“Handli”is an app for cellphone, which included three main functions: Adventure (setyour own timetable); Remind Me (let your friends and you can remind each otherabout the task); Fight together (share your deadline and interact with yourfriends about it)

Whenchoosing the “Adventure” mode, after a simple setting about your deadline,there exist a map of kingdom. Miffy has to beat all the obstacles of everytasks and after finishing one task successfully, there will be some bonus likeflash of each themes.

It canalso be changed in daily mode. You can put your tasks base on time schedule tothe digital clock, it will remind you in colors when you should do something.If you didn’t finish in time, it will be pushed automatically forward into a new time segment by thesingle clock hand.
Also, it will send you message on the home page of your smart phone.

The“Fight together” part is just like any SNS, but the only theme is task. Miffylikes to post her deadline there as well as make some comment on others’statement. Sometimes, Miffy writes something on it. She is very happy and gainmore energy to see many people are fighting with the tasks like her.

She isalso allowing to reminding and being reminded by others via the “Remind me”mode. With the system, Miffy can notonly check her friends’ task list and choose to remind them via message orvoice, but also can ask a friend to remind her the deadline. She really likesthis part because courage from friend can really make her focus on working.

5. Reflection
As one of theprocrastination member, I am really in the target group of this project. And Iam also glade to have this chance to do some research and think about somethingon it. Procrastinated problem is becoming more and more serious in nowadayssociety, especially in university. However, people have not enough understandon it so usually this problem is taken for graded. Fortunately, there is alwaysa strong willing for the procrastinators to change themselves.

This appis just a draft thought of a proposal to procrastination. This is the firsttime I’ve done all the research and analysis by myself. During the process, Imet many practice problems like how to design a available questionnaire and howcan I evaluate solutions in a more scientific and relative way. As design isnot only a pure logical process, it also covered many sensitive and emotionalareas, which are difficult to evaluate obviously. The methods I’ve learned iniNPD class are tools to help us figure out some abstract aspects into a visualand accessible way to evaluating. What’s more, this project is also a goodchance for me to go through the steps in design practice, as well asunderstanding the business in design.

Althoughmy individual project is not really a mature one, the idea is so rough and Ihaven’t come out a set of good looking interface now. There is no denying thatI’ve learnt something not only about the steps of the creation, but also aboutthe relationship between design thinking and design practice. It make meunderstand more about how the insights from research can lead to the criteriaof design concept, how it influence the consideration of the process of design,and how we evaluating the current or planned product and services development.

Thanksto Prof. Xin, I can take an interesting trip on innovative Products andServices Development. Though I may have not a really complete system ofunderstanding all parts of this area, it has already lit my willing for furtherstudying, learning and thinking of it.
