Rationale for styling
Greatly influenced and inspired by Kenya Hara’s study on “white”, I have adapted the ideology of white into my design. In some cases, white denotes “emptiness”. White as noncolour transforms into a symbol of nonbeing. Yet emptiness doesn’t mean “nothingness” or “energy-less”; rather, in many cases, it indicates a condition, which will likely be filled with content in the future.
A creative mind, in short, does not see an empty bowl as valueless, but perceives it as existing in a transitional state, waiting for the content that will eventually fill it.
White moves in the opposite direction of chaos; it is the singular image that emerges from disorder. White lies in our consciousness as fresh information escaped from our established world of knowledge.
