The History of the World in 100 Objects: Credit Card

The brief is to animate a piece of audio from 'A World in 100 Objects: Credit card'. The podcast discusses history of money and the largely used credit card that replaces the materiality of money. The black and white minimalistic theme is employed as the podcast discusses a very abstract topic.

Circles and lines are reoccurring shapes in the video. The circle represents physical money; coins and lines represents the straight edges of the credit card. Although it can be argued that lines can also represent the edges of paper money, coins were first used before banknotes. This visually emphasises the history of money - from coins to banknotes to cashless credit cards, and how we never see the money we save.
