Lynchburg is a city that has recently started improving thanks to the Universities nearby. What was once a very successful city suffered a downfall due to various reasons and has recently started to slowly make positive progress. Downtown Lynchburg was a major victim of this downfall and is scattered with abandoned properties and empty streets. The proposed solution to revitalize of this area involves redesigning the public transportation system and utilizing it as a funnel to bring people to the downtown core of Lynchburg in order to promote growth in both its inhabitants, as well as economy of the city.
The lack of a solid method of transportation played a major role in the downfall of the city. The institution of a better, more interconnected network of public transportation has a great possibility to boost the economy and success of the city and can aid in bringing Lynchburg to its former success

The final destination of the new public transportation system will be this multi-modal transportation hub. The light rail system and station will enter this building on the second story which houses the station itself as well as various programming that was influenced by its surrounding context.
