My very first idea for a flotation device was a circle shape as it is stable in the water and will not tip over however this shape makes it difficult for storing and putting on
I then looked at a crawler style of flotation but the problem with this is that the child isn’t submerged enough in the water as well as it would be easy to roll of.
I tried to redesign the crawler idea but have the child more in the water.
Then i considered the use of already existing products of firefly and the possibility of making the Go to seat attachable to a float.
A idea was developed around using a life jacket with the parent attached which then got refined into our final design.
I drew up the new concept and posted it on hatch to get feed back from parents.
Hatch is part of the Lec
My design was tailored towards the more severe case of CB so then the less severe could still use it here are some head support variations
