Only One - Kanye West

While thinking of a design for this poster, I was listening to the song Only One by Kanye West. I realized that the song itself portrayed two emotions so I took the song and portrayed the emotions visually.

The song is about Kanyes relationship with his mother Donda that passed away in 2007, and how he felt like his mother was singing through him to his daughter North.

The premise of this assignment was to portray two emotions in one poster. The original post had a ghostly hand reaching in from the left on Kanye's shoulder but I prefer how it looks without it.

I chose to represent the emotions happiness and sadness. There is happiness in this poster because Kanye has his daughter North. He is shown holding onto Nori with a ghostly hand reaching in over his shoulder. That hand is a portrayal of his mother. This represents sadness because one, Kanye lost his mother and two, North will never get to meet her grandmother.
