A painting for a friend living in a foreign country. Vietnam is a country blessed with beautiful sceneries and beautiful people. I did not want it to be another painting of typical famous landmarks, but something more emotional, something that cannot be mistaken with any other countries, and something that represent the uniqueness of Vietnam.
With a coast line running along the east border, Vietnam is a country of fishermen, but perhaps, the only fishermen that would dare to set sail into the vicious sea in a boat weaved only with bamboo stripes. My painting represents the courageous people of Vietnam, as well as the beautiful sea sight that defines this country.
