Dentro de los numerosos actos estatales programados para conmemorar el IV centenario de la muerte de Don Miguel de Cervantes, acaecida el 23 de abril de 1616, el ayuntamiento de la villa de Madrid, en colaboración con el Círculo de Bellas Artes, ha organizado una ambiciosa exposición que se centrará, cómo no podía ser de otro modo, en la obra más conocida del universal escritor: Don Quijote de la Mancha.
Los más prestigiosos artistas españoles de la actualidad se han volcado en la creación de obras de nuevo cuño que tienen como protagonista tanto al caballero de la triste figura, como al resto de su comparsa. Todas las disciplinas artísticas, visuales, escénicas, musicales y literarias, estarán presentes en esta exposición, que será inaugurada el 23 de abril y concluirá el 31 de diciembre.
El objetivo de esta exposición es ofrecer, tanto a los habitantes de la ciudad como a aquellos que nos visitan, un acercamiento al legado de nuestro más insigne vecino, el cual sigue tan vigente y contemporáneo como siempre.

Among the numerous events planned by the Spanish Goverment to commemorate the fourth centenary of the death of Don Miguel de Cervantes, which occurred on April 23, 1616, same date as William Shakespeare, the City of Madrid, in collaboration with El Círculo de Bellas Artes, has organized an ambitious exhibition that will focus in the best known book of our most famous writer: Don Quixote.
The most prestigious Spanish artists have participated in this exposition with the creation of a whole new banch of artworks whose protagonists are the knight of the sad figure as much as the rest of his troupe. All artistic, visual, performing, musical and literary disciplines, will be present at this exhibition, which will open on April 23 and end on December 31, 2016.
The aim of this exhibition is to provide to the residents of our city and those who visit us during this year an approach to the legacy of our most famous and celebrated neighbor, which remains as current and contemporary as ever.
