Wave is an openwork lounge seat. It is distinguished by its artistic form corresponding to modern trends, ergonomic design and environmentally friendly material which is deciduous tree plywood. Referring to the organic forms, I also wanted to use a natural material, in this case wood. Utilisation of art – is the keynote of the project. I wanted to assign the role of a sculpture to a piece of furniture and vice versa – to assign a role of furniture to a sculpture.
The aim of the project was to create a piece of furniture whose sculptural form would fit into the spacious residential interiors, so it can not only be utilized but also exposed. The concept of the seat is based on contemporary design principles, which are simplicity and functionality.
