Synesthesia is a music visualizer project, that provides viewers with the experience of what a person with audio-visual synesthesia sees when they listen to music. Users can choose from five different songs each from a different genre by using the glass touchscreen display. Each song has been carefully designed and animated in a way that holds true to what synesthetes really see in the form of shapes and colors.
By contacting synesthetes with this specific form of audio-visual synesthesia we were able to replicate real visuals according to their descriptions and drawings. We hope to show others that are not gifted with such a unique condition what it feels like be a synesthete.
