Around the World in 80 Days
An animated Steampunk-Intro to Jules Verne's famous story
An animated Steampunk-Intro to Jules Verne's famous story
This animated filmintro or musicvideo was created during my 4th semester at the University of Applied Sciences Vorarlberg. Together with two other students I made this video as an intro for another fictitious movie adaption of Jule Verne's novel 'Around the world in 80 days'. The animation also works as musicvideo for the song 'Unhallowed Metropolis' by the band 'Vernian Process', who allowed us luckily to use their music.
Consistend with the epoch and the setting of the novel, we decided to use a visual style that fits the steampunk genre.
We used After Effects to animate the characteres and objects we first created with Illustrator and Photoshop. I modelled, textured, animated and rendered the scenes at the start and the end with Autodesk's Maya.
