Learning how to splice together various takes to achieve the best results with sound effects and music while fine tuning the sound quality using GarageBand, the Shingle Creek Project leverages script writing, narration, and audio editing skills. Ducking the music underneath the voice narration and panning it a bit to the left allows the narration to remain the dominate sound. Adjusting the EQ settings helped smooth out the sound overall, leaving a richly textured sound.
During the course of editing this audio, I learned about the many nuisances and complexities of editing narration. Crafting a script, layering it with music and sound effects to match the video proved to be a fun challenge.
Audio editing is a true skill. It is the area where I could immediately see my growth over the last year. I will continue mastering this newfound skill for future projects.
