High-rise apartment. Bachelor 06/2013

As a part of this project a residential district on the outskirts of the city was renovated. This is a soviet industrial district. Weaving manufactory (№1 on the masterplan) - the oldest factory of the city - is forming this district. It is a comlex of the redbrick buildings, situated on the bank of the river. Nowdays this factory, in fact, is out of work. Therefore the project proposal is to modify the manufactory in a multifunctional center with art spaces, cinema,museums, workshops and hotel. Near the manufactory there are abandoned housing of factory workers(2). They are expected to be  renovated. The engineering factory(3) should become a library due to the lanterns ceiling light. In addition to these buildings some other are preserved because they are interesting as a cultural heritage. All this building are painted with gray on the masterplan. Instead of the other buildings, based on the existing transport network, new modern residential and public buildings were designed. One of the main ideas of the project was the creation of pedestrian paths, seperated from the motor roads, wich allows to reach any point of the district, especially schools, kindergartens, parks and cultural objects.   
          
        
 Due to the town planning restrictions the height of buildings increases from the center of the district  to the outskirts. This house (№4 on the masterplan, p.) is located on the edge of the district. Number of floors increases from 7 to 12.Next to this house there is one of the houses being preserved (pic.1).This old house determined the exteriror of designed house. The colour of ground floor walls echoes with colour of preserved house. Levels of facades are also based on levels and height of old house.The colour composition of the facades is inspired by the facades of the manufactory, made of brick of two colours (pic.2) The height of the ground floor on sides  is more than in central part of house. Here are common house spaces with winter garden, workshops etc. Central part of the house has stadart  ground floor height. Here are the apartment for handicapped.  
Section+courtyard facade. Ground floor space has different ceiling height - lower in apartments for handicapped, higher in the common spaces for tenants.
