This magazine was designed for a student publication design competition where we were given different categories to choose from and create two spreads with the cover page needing a hand lettered title. I chose the category of entertainment and focused on singer/song writer Tori Kelly as the subject for my spreads. I found a picture of her with a metal wall with holes in it behind her, and made the decision to continue that color scheme and pattern through the rest of the magazine to make the design more cohesive. I chose to give the images a glitched effect to make the spreads have a more unique style that draws the viewer in. I also pulled the green from her jacket to use for the article title. I’m proud of what I’ve created because I feel as though it’s a distinctive take on how a photo can influence the rest of a design such as the one I used on my cover spread.
