TO THE MOON AND JUPITER - SPACESHIP

The work focuses on looking at nature and extracting principles that could allow us to find a mechanism to construct. We chose to look at the human body with its skin, skeleton and organs and adapt it to the condition of the Moon on which you can only live under its surface. We first imagined a lunar base that could be alimented energetically by the sun and shelter the astronauts seeking for resources. The evolution of the project led us to explore further horizons; we looked at the moons of Jupiter, which has resources of water, sulfur, steel, etc… We constructed a spaceship that could adapt itself to movements. With its elastic skin, as the human body, its skeleton structuring the different organs composing it, the spaceship begins its long journey to the Moon, Callisto, Ganymede, Europa and Io to bring resources.

Through the evolution of the project, we first chose to mix media of representation (insertion of wire drawings on more realistic images) in order to provoke a caesura between real and addition. We wanted this to be felt as a utopia and not a project that we really wanted inked in the lunar landscape. But in the second part of the project, the desire to integrate and to ink the project into a reality made us think to a different mode of representation. We wanted the viewer to be projected into our designs , providing a more realistic dimension , not stopping to the image. We wanted to get close to a more cinematic dimension involving more a felt movement that a fixed image .
