Naomi Knows is a website to empower young women and destigmatize the issues surrounding female puberty by giving users access to information about their bodies, and growing up in a unique and personable way.
This project was inspired by Anne Herbert and the Growing Girls Project.
Information as Conversation
Users can read archived conversations between Naomi and several female characters in the form of texting transcripts. These conversations cover a broad array of topics, from menstruation and birth control to sexting and depression. Naomi stands in for a trusted adult and also gives girls the tools to start their own conversations with someone they trust.
