Wall collage (Urban art)

The artistic process applied in this work communicates with both digital and urban art forms, owning as primary concept craft methods of collage. The computer screen becomes a blank sheet of paper. The research begins with searching for image clippings and photos to be selected and juxtaposed one to the other, forming a new image. I invest in color snips, layers and image overlapping. The digital procedure allows to rescale the original images’ dimensions, then each fragment is printed separately making it possible to manipulate them in a new way. Transformed from small to large format, from digital to analog.
I select walls and insist in the juxtaposition of layers, the wall now being the blank sheet. I amplify the ludic component, and it draws special interest from me the art pasted in the urban setting, ephemeral, placed in the unleveled side of a fence or the cracks of a wall, suffering from the time’s natural presence, which does not exist in the virtual world.
