Redesigning Crutches

The design of crutches has remained relatively unchanged for many years and have remained cumbersome both during usage and non-usage. Currently, crutches are just a long and rigid piece of metal that topples easily without any support. It takes effort to position your crutches when not in use and inconveniences others due to the disability of the user.
Feri is a pair of crutches that grants the user more freedom, as it allows for quick placement of crutches against a table as well as affords detachability for portability. At half the weight with the same stability, Feri also accommodates a wider range of users' arm length and height as compared to the common axillary crutch.
Feri uses elastomers with specially designed internal structures for its points of contacts,
providing both the elasticity and sturdiness required for a better user experience.
Feri can be easily placed using the attachments to clasp onto the tables
Feri can be quickly and simply detached through the pushing of the spring buttons, just like how would one adjust the height configurations
After detaching and folding, Feri can be hung off the table as well for reduced space or for easy portability especially aboard transportation without needing to pass the crutch to others for stowing
A further concept of Feri is the extension of a common lower body frame design to other forms of mobility aids, which extends the product life cycle and promotes sustainability through the recycling of the parts needed
