I WAS PART OF THE PROJECT PUEBLA CIUDAD MURAL!!!
I've designed this mural and a group of colaborators helped me to paint it: Ivonne Ahued, Angie Jiménez Jiménez & Victoria Jiménez Carillo.

Dimensions:
W: 24 mts. aprox
H: 4.5 mts. aprox.

Ciudad Mural
started in 2010 in the neighborhood of Xanenetla, in the city of Puebla, Mexico. It's goal has been to rescue Mexican muralist heritage and use it as a tool to make the facades of this historical part of the city more beautiful and representative of the community's complex and intense identity. They have completed 57 murals aprox. till now.

The murals have been a team effort. The community of Xanenetla decided that the concepts of the murals should be along the lines of “who we were”, “who we are”, and “who we want to be”, thus describing through the walls, the past, present and future of the neighborhood. These designs have been co-created by local artists and the owners of the houses. (info: Puebla Ciudad Mural, kickstarter, 2012)

The story of the mural, WHAT IS THIS ABOUT?
This mural is about la familia Campos, they have been making ice & ice creams for 30 years. They wanted to represent this (with the fruits and the green ice) because is the most important thing for them. Also in the mural you can see a war cannon... their family arrived to that house long long time ago...they were hiding of war (Revolution), at the end we won so  I wanted to represent it like a victory that's why the war cannon explodes flowers!.
A hat with musical notes... the grandpa wanted to be singer... he couldn't but once he could sing in a kiosk dressed like a "Mariachi", all the family was there with him. It was a really important moment for them. Also you can see an apple crossed with an arrow because the grandpa says Cupido just darted his heart and he fell in love with his wife.
Mexican flag and the "penacho" (hat with feathers) because they are mexicans...
Lot of water because the family always remember their first time they were in front of the sea. An pink bird ("eagle") because they have been searching for freedom and justice.
Popocatépetl... it's one of the most important volcanoes in Mexico... it's located in my city :) and they can see it from their house!!!

Hope you like it :D
