Forma Type Specimen Book

The assignment was to digitalize an existing typeface.

My professors assigned the typeface Forma to me. Designed by a team of eight designers headed by Aldo Novarese in 1986 for the Nebiolo Type Foundry, it had never been digitalized. This restrained san-serif was unforunately released at the same time that the market was saturated with Helvetica and Univers, so it never caught on.

The first step was to create an full set of upper case letters by hand using a caligific maker and some careful measurements.
I then moved on to create a lower case and finall, a specimen book to display the best aspects of this
marshmallowy, sans serif font.
A5 sized pages.
