Symbolising a warrior's prowess, the war bonnet is an honorific object with great spiritual and political importance. It is earned by the prividged member's of the American Indian community who have earned a place of great respect in their tribe.
In order to explore the parameters of paper as a material, I decided to craft this cultrural attire. Studying the components that go into it and the meaning behind each, I practiced various techniques of paper craft that helped me understand the flexibility of the material.
Essentially, there are three components in a War Bonnet, which are also incorporated in my design -
1. Eagle Feathers
2. Ermin Skin bullets
3. Leather Belt
