Fuel Poverty Foods | Packaging

Around 1.8 million people within Scotland feel they are unable to heat their homes adequately. Many also find themselves faced with the 'heat or eat' dilemma, having to choose between putting food on the table or heating their homes. This project aims to highlight the extent of fuel poverty in Scotland using food packaging. Many peopel will buy foods they do not need which stay locked in a cupboard for months. Part of this project values the cost of some of these foods against heating costs to show the value a small amount of money could have with heating. Each packaged item has been photographed and made into a postcard. The front contains a photograph with the back holding information about Fuel Poverty in Scotland.
