Following the success of the cover artwork I produced for the matchday programme of Reading Football Club's promotion winning 2011/2012 campaign, one of their most influential squad members, the midfield player Jem Karacan, contacted me and asked me to produce bespoke promotional material for him.
Karacan, who is now playing in the Barclay's Premier League, wanted me to depict him as being "on fire" following a goal he'd scored. I began developing a rougher, more 'raw' and organic sketched-effect for the player himself and his stadium surroundings whilst utilising my typical photo-manipulation techniques, and both Karacan and myself were pleased with the results.
