REGGAE-ROCK BAND FROM ISTANBUL
Zeytin is a Reggae-Rock band formed in 2014. Based in Istanbul, Turkey they have given several concerts over the past year showcasing their Turkish and English compositions. Other than local concerts they have recently performed on the main stage at Seasplash/Goulash festival in 2015 where other than taking part in some interviews were also mentioned in several online magazines such as Reggae HR & SoundReport for their ‘positive vibrations’ and ‘captivating sounds [that] made the public dance and prepared the ground for the evening headliners.’
Having eleased their new songs ‘Sabır’ & ‘Nerdeyim?’ with two music videos online, they will soon be releasing an EP as well as more music videos. These songs have already started to play on the radio such as Radio ODTÜ and ROCK FM Turkey.
Other than Reggae their other main music influences are Ska, Soul, Funk, World Music, Rock’n’Roll and Grunge Rock. Amongst their favourite artists and groups are Bob Marley, Nneka, Manu Chao, Nirvana, Jack Johnson, The Specials, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Imbrahim Maalouf, Portishead, Tower of Power, Steely Dan, Stevie Wonder, Lauryn Hill and Hindi Zahra.
