(EN) Final project for the class 'Information Design and Critical Thinking' of Hugh Dubberly at the MFA 'Information Design and Visualization' of the Northeastern University. The purpose of the project was to study one aspect of design chosen by the student from a critical point of view and do a conceptual model of it. The way to do it could be theoretical and philosophical, or practical, as it is this example.
As a way to narrow the 'process of the creation of graphics in newspapers', it was decided to do the model only when they are done for breaking news, where the number of steps may be less. This work is only a diagram of how graphic journalism is done in newspapers. It is not meant to be an extra detailed version of the process, since in this case the number of people involved, as well as the number of steps would increase greatly.
(SP) Proyecto final para la asignatura 'Information Design and Critical Thinking' impartida por Hugh Dubberly en el MFA 'Information Design and Visualization' en la Universidad Northeastern de Boston. El objetivo del trabajo era aproximarse a un aspecto del diseño a escoger por el alumno desde un punto de vista crítico y realizar un modelo conceptual del mismo. La forma de hacerlo podía ser desde la parte más teórica y filosófica del mismo, o desde la práctica, como es éste ejemplo.
A fin de acotar 'el proceso de creación de gráficos en periódicos' se seleccionó únicamente cuando éstos se llevan a cabo para noticias de última hora, donde el número de pasos puede ser menor. Este trabajo es sólo un esquema de cómo se realizan las infografias en periódicos, no busca ser una visión extra detallada, dado que en ese caso el número de personas implicadas, así como de puntos en el proceso se incrementaría considerablemente.
