This booklet is a documentation of my week long adventure in Wenchang, Hainan Island. My family estate is near to our ancestors’ graves and thus our annual affair is to make our way there for Tomb Sweeping Festival. 

The pictures in this book is meant to record and describe this family event, as much as a keepsake for future generations of my own kin. The title is so as we actually stayed in a village bordering a jungle, and as well as putting myself out there literally to learn more about this culture I have grown up with.
