When I was around eight years old I discovered the Science Fiction adventures of Valérian and Laureline by the French team Pierre Christin and Jean-Claude Mézières.
The year was 1977 and I could only borrow them through our local library. In Sweden the albums and characters were named "Linda and Valentin".
These books have influenced me more than I could have imagined. And much of the design and feeling have influenced movies like Star Wars and others.
So I decided to make my personal interpretation of my childhood heroes "Linda and Valentin".
Step one, rough modeling of Valérian. One problem is that he looks a bit different in every album.

Here is the final version of one of the guns. It's a Ray Gun with adjustable Ray Pressure and a Digital Point Sight. It's old.All textures are procedural except for two images. Progressive render with some final touch-up in Photoshop.
