Mental Nature is a photography and digital media based concept which displays an evoking sense of meditation in nature and the subconscious. This series of posters is self organized for a final class project by myself, Kristine Plath, and features a few of my peers as models.

My influence for this series began through an exploration of personal hobbies, ideologies, and unity. Encompassing these three aspects and bringing them together in an artistic way seemed fitting towards the goals of many entities that I attempt to achieve. The thought of the project expanding into a series occurred to me when I thought of different ways people meditate, how they feel during meditation, and how nature unifies these ideas. Levitation came into mind due to my own personal feelings through the subconscious during meditation. When I feel at one with nature, it feels as if I am light as air and floating wherever the wind might take you. This journey through the minds eye became reality with new found skills from Photoshop and photography.

This levitation series draws awareness to each individuals underlying reflection of individuality in nature. Each piece in the series captures a moment, one that seems to pause time just as the mind does when dreaming. The goal of the project is to lead every person to alleviate their own forms of meditation and ponder the unification of natural occurrences and self reflection.
