This was a Design Across Scales (4.110) project done at MIT. The premise of the project was to design a time machine. My group focused on making a completely analog "machine", with inspiration from sundials. The sundial features two words that can be cast as shadows during certain parts of the day, namely the start and end of the work day. We wanted people to stop for a moment and reflect during the typical hustle and bustle of their days. We only built the top part, but we envisioned it to be on a very long, black pole so that passersby can't immediately see where the shadow wrod is coming from.
