The Issue

Unfortunately, bullyism is a an all too prevelent issue in our society. All people experience it at least once in ther lifetime and everyone will either be a bully, be a victim or be a witness. Bullying is considered a form of harassment towards individuals who are usually at a disadvantage.
How many times did you find yourself laughing and jocking about that weird guy who attends your class or works with you? How often did you see something happening, but thought it was none of your business? How easy is to laugh and share a video of somone embarassing themself online?
Bullyism is everywhere and it’s easier than you might think to find yourself to be part of it.
The Solution

To raise awareness about such an unaddressed and understimated topic, I have designed three posters in order to depict the different aspects of bullying: bullying endorsment, cyberbullying and verbal herassment.
Each poster is designed to grab the viewer’s attention through vivid imagery, that showcases, in a literal way, what the victim is indeed experiencing.
In addition, in order to achieve a deeper impact with the audience, one of the ads has been designed to be interactive.
By simply downloading Layar (available for free in both Android and Apple smartphones), one can scan the advertisments and unlock further content, thanks to augmented reality technology.
Via the device screen, the verbal bullied victims will speak to you, and share their feelings as well as their prospectives.
This will be done using the words of  “To this Day”, a poem on bullyism by Shane Koyczan.
This additional step will give more authenticity to the campaign and hopefully leaving a deeper mark in people’s heart.

Important: Augmented Reality feature is no longer active.
The video below is what you would have been seeing trough your phone screen.
