Personal Branding is a project which showcases yourself, your skills, your personality and your USP. For 3 years now I have been a Qualified Tour Guide at Edinburgh Bus Tours speaking to hundreds of people each summer. Tour guiding also brings with it a skill set of presentation, public speaking, quick thinking and humour. When branding myself as a designer I have played of this job by giving the designs an authentic bus and travel feel.
My business cards are printed in ticket format with 5 ticket variations on show. Each ticket is individually stamped with the date, hole punched and perforated. Each ticket is designed to showcase a set skill while providing valuable contact information. On the reverse of each ticket is an advert showcasing my skills in tour guiding.
The 5 tickets read:
1.The Engaging Graphic Designer - A good speech is like a pencil. It must have a point.
2. The Different Graphic Designer - If I was a typeface I would always be in bold.
The tickets will be on show in roll format being printed from an authentic ticket machine, while also able to be displayed individually once separated. The individual tickets will be displayed in a wooden ticket holder designed to mimic those in times past.
Save the date cards have also been created as an interactive hand out to promote and invite agencies and creatives to both New Blood (London) and The Degree Show (Edinburgh Napier University). Each will be given with a stamp which when used provides the beginning date for one of the events.
