Self Branding // Business Cards

At the end of my study (8th semester Communication Design at Hochschule Augsburg in Germany) I decided to print my own Graphic Design Business Cards.
In the first few semesters we learned in the Calligraphy Class a lot about form quality, old fonts and font aesthetics. That was the base of the project.

I sketched a lot of initial letters which, turned out, isn't easy that much. It was hard to find a form which shows my personality at its best.

I worked in this steps:

1. writing lots of "ST" with a fountain pen

2. drawing the essence of the first step by hand with a pencil

3. vectorize the best in Adobe Illustrator

4. layouting the business cards (Akzidenz Grotesk BQ Condensed Medium 12pt and Regular 10pt)

5. realizing it by myself with silk-screen printing

Summary:
I've chosen to print my logo and a line with gloss paint which is only possible in silk-screen printing. I bought the paper for my own in cream white, brown and black (about 600-900g/m2). With the selection of four different combinations I have a different Business Card with various effects!

And – I have to say – I really love it!
The black part on the left and the logo was printed in gloss paint. For the silk-screen printing it had to be 100% black.
Thank you for watching!
