Family Crest
This is a design I made as part of an exercise intended to display family heritage, via Fmaily Crest. The top left represents the Texas State flag, my home State. The bottom two represent the New Mexico State flag, a place I've lived, and Louisianna, where part of my family lives and come from. The top left pane represtents someone in prayer. My family has strong religions ties and thought it was appropriate.The banner colors are those of France, my heritage.
As for the design, I wanted the Shield to look shiny, as if it were reflecting light. To do this effect, I added gradient the cross peice and the sicdes of several of the panes. Drop shadows were then added to the Shield and banner to give the objects depth.
Overall, I like how the shiled turned about, but espcially the banner.
