PrettySickArt is an ongoing online art project that began in 2013.  After treatment for Cancer in 2012, I found myself with chronic pain that has left me using crutches and sometimes a wheelchair to get around.  After illustrating a selfie with my crutches, several friends and acquaintences asked if I would illustrate them with their crutches, wheelchairs, and other gear.  From that a larger project was born.  PrettySickArt aims to give visibility and beauty to a group of people who are chronically underrepresented in the art world: the chronically ill, pained, and disability.

And so I take submitted photos from the PrettySickArt Blog and Illustrate the faces (and gear) of those with chronic pain or illness. Because Visibility matters, and just because your problems are chronic, doesn't mean you can't be beautiful too!
