To support the release of their new album AnnenMayKantereit planned some very special gigs before starting their tour through Europe in spring 2016. Under the topic “Wanderzirkus” (engl. travelling menagerie) they organised four exclusive performances in Germany. Matching the intended circus mood they were looking for a creative concept that could easily be adapted for tour posters, tickets, merchandise and digital communications.
Therefore I illustrated a hidden objects image capturing the upcoming tour in a busy “behind the scenes” moment. The fine detailed image not only focuses on the band itself. It includes all members of the tour family from management to stage technicians and captures the carnival atmosphere. AnnenMayKantereit are on tour with friends and invite their fans to join them, so an inclusive design was very important to them.
In addition to the Wanderzirkus-Tour artwork a foldable Din A5 ticket, was waiting for every visitor of the Wanderzirkus Tour. Using a simple three step instruction this ticket can be quickly transformed into a small cardboard stand-up showing the matching tour dates to one of the four concerts on its backside.
