BananaBandy Re-Branding

Essentially, there is a concept behind the name BananaBandy. The "Banana" in the name is not the fruit, it is the बनाना in Hindi, which means to create and "Bandy" is a slang in English for "exchange". So in essence, our name reflects the purpose behind BananaBandy, that is, to create a website that allows Indian Creative Professionals to freely "Create & Exchange".
BananaBandy is a website that has been created for, is catered to and is populated by Indian Creative Professionals and so we wanted to add a touch of the Desi essence in our new logo. This is why our new logo is based around the devnagiri "ब".
Why the pencil? 
The pencil is the absolute and most basic tool of creativity and design that exists. All creative professionals from architects and illustrators to copywriters and film-makers use the pencil at least once. The pencil is the most basic of all creative tools and is the origin of all things creative. The very act of an artist lifting a pencil and using it to channel all his creative drive, energy and passion onto paper is the basis of art itself. 
Our new logo is now a reflection of our identity and an extention of what we stand for, it showcases our purpose of existence, that is, to give Indian Creative Professionals a platform through which they can Create, Exchange, Interact, Ideate and Collaborate.
