Brief //
Design an opinion website on a chosen topic. At least 2/3rd of the website had to be expressed with type. 90% of the type has to be live html text.
Objective //
Instead of thinking of boredom as a waste of time, we try to look at it as a necessary rest for your brain that can leave your mind feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Giving your mind a break from the constant stimulation of technology allows it to better take in new things and have new thoughts, which can boost creativity. Neuroscience research has even found that daydreaming involves the same processes that govern imagination and creativity.
Design //
In this project I designed a website about an opinion with a strong personal and conceptual context. I conducted extensive research, writing, and image creation. I also further explored blending image and type. I chose to expressed my opinion on the positive impact of boredom on creativity. I used shades of grey as my primary color palette to evoke a mood of monotony, stillness and mundane. I also used orange sparingly to highlight specific information and to create contrast throughtout my website. For the typeface I used Playfair display as primary text and Roboto for secondary. The photography for this site is surreal, abstract imagery combined with everday objects.
