For this brief we were asked to simplify and distil one of the complex themes from a given PhD thesis into an impactful, political A1 poster. The objective, to communicate directly to the general public, raising awareness of the social injustice and health inequalities the thesis reveals. 

 

The thesis was written by Oliver Stephen Williams BSc, MSc of the Department of Sociology, University of Leicester and is titled 'An Ethnography of Neoliberal Area-Based Public Health Policy Intervention and Physical Activity in a Deprived English Neighbourhood.'

 

For my work I have chosen to analyse and produce a piece of work that argues the themes of neoliberalism and it's effects on the NHS. The poster features a large main image, signifying the working class attempts to try and reach for the NHS but being unsuccessful due to their financial stability, foreshadowing how things may be if the NHS continues being privatised.
