$10 Type
A typeface made from $10 of cheap, throwaway goods.
Based on the Garaje 53 font by Thomas Huot-Marchand.
I started with a deck of cards, some cleaning sponges, and a few sticks of hot glue. The leaves I of course picked up on the street.
After cutting out and assembling all the letters, I spray-painted the letters with gold paint and let them dry. The cardboard box was a simple windbreak. Although I didn't expect it to be so noticeable, the hot glue edging was really highlighted by the spray-paint, and added a lot of texture to an otherwise flat surface.
