This project was done in association with the Gandhi Krishi Vignana Kendra (GKVK) Institute,India.
My group (Adithya Kota, Sushmita Hatte, Dhruv Benipuri,Oren Sequira and Sparsh Saxena) and I were asked to build structures around one of the many banyan tress in the GKVK campus. We decided to build simple a seating arrangment using bamboo as our primary material .Bamboo was cut and collected from the bamboo grove nearby and we transported it to our work site by us, and we were succesfully able to build the structure in just two days.
Bamboo as a meterial is sustainablity as well as beauty combined. We tied it together by jute via drilling holes thorugh the bamboo and pushing jute ropes.
These structures blended really well with the surroundings and actually , made the site look even more green
