The architectural codes approval process is partially responsible for the consistently high level of development in Currie Barracks, Garrison Woods and Garrison Green.
Many architectural controls focus on superficial elements and the result is a homogenous and under-detailed housing stock that are a 'frankenstein' of architectural elements. The style-based codes provide guidance for building form, proportion, materials, and detailing on a number of traditional styles. The result of these sophisticated codes is a neighbourhood with timeless beauty based on colloquially-appropriate styles.
