Journey To Creativity: Two Stories

Introduction:
Using the Adobe Voice app on the IPad, I told two stories about myself. The first story was based off of what steps I took to become an artist; starting from what inspire me, to where I am at now, and where I would like to go in the future. The second story was based off of any problem I've ever come across in my life and how I had resolved it; I used the problem when me and my fireteam in Destiny were in a raid and were about to beat the boss but we all died. Adobe Voice is a speciality app only available on the app store (correct me if I am wrong) and allows you to record your voice in the form of telling a story. You can apply photos and clip-art to give visual asthetics, use a theme to layout the project, and apply music to the background.
Project:
To create a story using Adobe Voice which defines the path I took that brought me into the field of art.

Materials:
-IPad
-Adobe Voice
-Creative Cloud Files

Method:
-Create story using adobe voice
-Storytell my narrative
-Add photos
-Add background music
-Touch up on voice edits
-Share and publish

Creative Process:
I used the following technique to capture my flow of work.
1. I would think of what I wanted to say for my story
2. I recorded my voice and filled all the sections in the project screen
3. I went back and played my voice over and copied down what I had said
4. I re-recorded my voice following the script I wrote this time, allowing myself to touch up on words that didn't come out right and so I could filter my voice to how I wanted to exactly sound
5. I added visual content that went with what I said and followed the theme of my story
6. I chose the music that best fit the story, and chose a layout to visually stimulize the audience
7. I saved my work and uploaded it to Behance
Story #1: Journey To Creativity

Summary:
- Story should've started with "Hi, my name is Nick, and today I'm here to tell you about my story of becoming and artist"
- How playing video games brought me into the world of art
- Minecraft was exceptionally good for this, but alas I was not good at it yet
- I wanted to create beautiful structures but I wasn't creative enough, so I looked to the minecraft wiki for help
- I wanted to start building one but didn't know what the inside looked like, only the outside
- I decided to draw out the house, plan it, creating the blueprints for it
- I realized that this counts as drawing and that I can use this as a pathway to becoming an artist
- I learned that being artist doesn't mean you have to live up to people's expectations, you can just do what you like and take it away from there
Story #2: Raid To Ressurection

Summary:
- Began the raid with a six man squad
- We couldn't finish off the boss the first encounter
- We made our way through the raid facing challenges together, overcoming bosses along the way
- We made it to the Sisters, these were the hardest pair, having to be defeated on the first try or we die
- We followed the technique to obtain the relic to drop the sisters' shields
- We fired upon the bosses and defeated them but got taken out in the process
- I self-ressurected and svaed our team
- We were awarded with treasure, faced the final boss, beat him, and successfully completes our raid
Conclusion:

This project required us to be able to capture and record the process it took to storytell a metanarrative using the technique of digital storytelling. I learned that it takes a lot more than just a few words to prepare and tell a story. Prior to everything, one must bring together what they shall say, how they wat to say it, how long each phrase should be, and what visual components should be applied to it.

While working on this project I came to realize that working with my voice helped me devloped different pitches and tones for it. At first I thought my own voice sounded weird but now it actually sounds quite interesting. I can apply certain accents and voiceovers now, so I'd say that is one accomplishment. The hardest part had to be getting to say each paragraph perfectly without screwing up one word. At some points it took multiple tries to get the paragraph down, but after clearing the throat and taking my time, I got it down.

Overall, this project was a success because it helped develop my public speaking skill, and sharing my voice digitally to those around me.
