Jump(man), Jumpman was produced thanks to Jordan Brand presenting me with an exclusive opportunity to creative direct a photoshoot based on their Holiday 2015 collection. They included a professional studio, photographer, lighting, models and all use of their apparel and- all direction and styling was left to me.

Jump(man), Jumpman is loosely inspired by the energy and brashness of the Future and Drake song of the same name, the evolution of the athleisure movement, 2001: A Space Odyssey and the original Jordan Brand “Banned” commercial.

The primary fashion story is technical fall/winter jackets and how to wear more performance pieces casually, in keeping with the athleisure category. I built dimension and movement into the shoot by layering pieces so when the models jump and move, the images are more dynamic. I styled the Jordan pieces with upcoming brands by New York artists and custom pieces made from vintage military and NASA garments and patches to reinforce the technical fashion story. The color palette is on trend with FW2015 using shades of blue, grey, olive green and black, as well as references army silhouettes and technology (shield jacket, fishtail parka, etc.). I kept the branding subtle but called back the Banned commercial and 2001 using strategic pops of red. We shot on a grey background in studio like the original “Banned” campaign and to highlight the clothes, shoes and the energy of story.

The following images were published on Beautiful Savage Magazine. Additional selects from the shoot are published separately.
