I found this assignment captivating. There was definitely a focus on spatial awareness as I had to structure the text in such a way that the white space felt even, while not have any orphans, keeping elements lined up, and providing the correct emphasize in the proper areas. 

I began this assignment by finding an article which spoke to the audience I was hoping to reach. I wanted something approachable, not too formal, but not too lax either. Once I found the text I planned to use I began brainstorming a general layout for the text. 

I felt a two-column grid would work best with the amount of text in the article. After placing the text and settling on fonts / sizes I began searching for images which would invoke a feeling of creativity and imagination. 

I used color to separate the section headings from the body text of the article and to draw the eye to specific locations on the page, such as the checklist in the Getting Started section or the pull quotes which overlay images.
