Hypothetical Wired UK spread
Editorial illustration assignment.
I chose Wired UK for my spread although my article came from The New Scientist.
Wired UK uses great type sidebars, clean and colorful design, and features some cool illustration.
I thought the magazine's image correlated with the freshness of the illustration. I referenced a LOT of Wired UK spreads and attempted to match the design of my spread with the general layout of the magazine.
All of the little design elements - the 3d blue bar and "S", page number, and setup of the sidebar are direct references to current Wired UK design.
