Larger-than-life abstractions scaled to communicate the big picture.
Midori Design Works' partners JC Salamat and Aya Caringal were engaged by MCAD Manila to design the visual identity and communications program for Michael Lin's first solo exhibition in the Philippines. Internationally known for creating monumental site-specific painted installations, Lin’s interventions redesign and reconfigure public spaces, dynamically transforming the way they are perceived by the public.
The design direction translates the artist's larger-than-life abstractions into takeaway forms. A digital recreation of Lin's artwork Autumn Gold, is purposely cropped to show different facets of the big mural.
Print invitations featured various close-ups of the Autumn Gold artwork, providing a hint of the scale of the exhibition without giving everything away.
The foldout exhibition guide also doubles as a giveaway poster, allowing museum guests to take home a piece of the artwork.
