Every day an individual in the modern society makes about 2 kg of waste. That waste is divided into three categories, 40% food waste (biodegradable), 35% recyclable (paper, gas, plastic...) and 25% non-recyclable.

 

Every year in Israel alone 2.5 million tons of biodegradable wastes are transported from homes and buried far away in landfills. This is a very costly (gathering and transporting waste) and non-environmental process. Landfills contaminate water sources and contribute to the creation of greenhouse gases.

So how can we help?!

 

Collect food wastes into a modern designed counter bin that will help separate food waste from other recyclable and no recyclables. The counter bin has no sharp edges for easy cleaning, a sliding lid on top, and a trap door opening from the bottom for a hassle free dump into the composter. The trap door also acts as a liquid container minimizing the risk of spilling occurring while emptying the bin. 

Almost all food wastes can be turned into rich and organic compost.

How does it work?

 

# The compost is made by bin rotation, the fastest way knows today. The bin in the proses of making compost turns a couple degrees every time the foot lever that open the lid is pressed.

# Duel bin system allows one bin to work while the other gathers food waste. Each bin has enough volume to contain 30 people's waste for 40 days.

# When the compost is ready after 4-5 weeks an official from the municipal changes between the bins and the proses starts all over again.

# The food waste in now only 12% of its original volume and has become rich organic compost for the benefits of the local society. Compost can be gathered from the drawer at the base of the composter.

The composter is mechanically operated by the press of the foot lever to open the lid. It does not need additional power or connection the local power grid.
