I wanted to grasp what I thought was real Cornwall from a Cornish perspective. I feel this photograph sums up real Cornwall because it is a portrait of a real Cornishman who has lived the majority of his life in Cornwall looking over the waters he once use to fish in. The image shows the tranquil, relaxed aspect of Cornwall and its relationship to the sea. The use of subject and background also confirms the stereotype of Cornwall being a retirement destination because of its slow paced easy going life style.
