The circulation of myths and misinformation are significant barriers in understanding the issues concerning refugees and asylum seekers. It is a complex and delicate subject that can be difficult to approach, and much of this information is both restricted and misleading or misunderstood.

Re:Refugees is a two-part resource book educating us with the truth behind common myths and questions regarding refugees and asylum seekers and provides terminology frequently used in conversation, allowing us to understand the impact and power these words have. When informed with the truth, we gain clearer insight and a genuine understanding towards refugees, enabling us to appropriately respond to the realities of the refugee plight.

This book is designed for aid workers or anyone interested in the field. I envisioned for it to be purchased online and could be supplied and distributed by NGOs to reach their networks and communities.

Spreads from Part 1 'Refugee Myth Book'.
This section identifies and explains the truth behind 18 common myths and queries regarding asylum seekers and refugees.
Spreads from section 2 'The Refugee Dictionary'.
This includes definitions of common terminology used in conversation on the topic of refugees and asylum seekers to help the reader navigate easily through the content in Part 1 of this book.
Any words used within the dictionary are referenced so that you can easily turn to other definitions, and in the myth book section these words are underlined.
The dust jacket folds out to an A3 poster presenting statistical data based on UNHCR's 2014 Global Trends report. If published, this element could be removable and updated with new information depending on the year or altered to the NGO who supplies this book.

A 'Resources' section is included in the back of the book to encourage individuals to get involved beyond reading this book through further research and investigation.
