Meteor Shower/Night Sky Photography

This was the beginning of the night at Jordan Lake. There is still light on the horizon from the setting sun, but there were plenty of people who showed up to witness the Perseid meteor shower.
Those streaks in the night sky might look like shooting stars but are in fact just airplanes.
If you look closely, you can see a couple sitting alongside the waterfront. The Milky Way was faint to the naked eye due to light pollution from nearby cities, but with long exposure photography, the details were brought out.
This was the only photo of an actual meteor I caught all night. Even with an ultra wide angle lens and long exposure, it's impossible to know where a meteor will show up next, but I'm glad I was able to at least get a photo of one.
This "star trail" photo was composed using many long exposure shots taken over a period of time. The photos are then layered on top of each other to create this beautiful effect that is caused due to the Earth's rotation. The different colors on the tree were caused by different types of light that were shining on it at that certain moment, and I really like the way that aspect of the photo turned out.
On the way back from the meteor shower viewing. This photo was taken using long exposure with the car moving very slowly.
